Amy
Ettinger is an essayist, journalist and editor. She writes incisively
and humorously on topics ranging from marriage to hiking in the
Vermont wilderness. Her essay "It's Not a Competition"
is featured in the anthology,
The Secret Lives of Lawfully Wedded Wives (July 2006).
She has contributed to Backpacker Magazine, Sierra Magazine,
the San Francisco Chronicle Magazine, and the Chicago
Tribune.
Amy
grew up in the Bay Area and attended UC Santa Cruz. She earned a
master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. She's
reported on former Sen. John Edwards, filed stories from the White
House, and trailed Clint Eastwood around Pebble Beach. She began
her writing career as a columnist for the San Jose Mercury News
covering issues affecting Generation X.
